Collection: Sturdiwheat
In 1939 Arnold Kaehler was grinding wheat on a farm in Red Wing, MN., the casing on his portable grinding mill broke and some of the outer wheat layer sifted through by mistake. He tasted the stray wheat “A particularly fine flavor” he thought. He began experimenting with the wheat and before long he had a hot cereal mix, a pancake mix and a patent on a new process for grinding and screening wheat layers. Sturdiwheat is still made in Red Wing, MN. using the same process. We are still selling Sturdiwheat Mixes because of their great taste and they are good for you! Our line now includes Pancake Mixes, Hot Cereal Mixes, Bread Mixes, Dessert Mixes and Coating Mixes too!
